Revision of the different past tenses (Past simple/past continuous/present perfect)
We use the past simple tense to talk about an action or a situation, an event in the past.
The event can be short or long action.
Here are some past simple time markers that help us to understand when things have happened:

To form the interrogative form past simple:
We need to use auxiliary “did”.
When we use the auxiliary we put the verb in the base form.
Did + subject + verb (base form)…+?
Did you study at university last year?
Did → I - you - she - he - it - we - they
To form the negative form past simple.
We need auxiliary did + not = did not or didn’t + verb (base form)
