The Present Continuous
We use the present continuous for ongoing actions
He is walking
She is crying
They are dancing
To form the present continuous, we have to use :
Subject + to be in the present + Verb (base form) + ing
I am doing
He, she, it is doing
We, they are doing
Subject + to be in the present + verb + ing
Example: I am watching TV
Subject + to be + not + verb + ing
Example: I am not watching TV
To be in the present + subject + verb + ing + ?
Example: Is he watching TV
1. When the verb ends with a consonant, we simply add ing
Example: to watch → watching
2. When the verb ends with a vowel, we erase the vowel, and add ing
Example: ride → riding.
3. When a verb ends with vowel + consonant, we duble the last consonant and add ing
Example : To set → setting.
