The Internet is a very useful means of communication that we cannot do without. However , for many people the Internet is dangerous rather than useful. Do you share their opinion? Let ‘s contrast its main advantages with its disadvantages.
- It hepls us find all kinds of information.
- We can take classes online.
- We can communicate with people from any place and at any time.
- We can do shopping on the Net.
- We can listen to world radio stations, read the world press and watch world TV channels.
- We can have access to world libraries.
- We send and receive messages in the wink of an eye.
- We can work at home thanks to the Internet.
1.We waste a lot of time in front of the screen chatting with one another.
2.Some sites encourage racism and murder.
3.Governments have access to your files .
4.Personal information is diffused on the Net and anyone can get it.
5.Young people have access to dangerous games.
6.Teenagers can make friends with criminals on social networks like Facebook and Tweeter.
I. You are going to express a point of a view ,so you need to use the following forms:
a) Positive form:
- I believe that the Internet..
- I think that the Internet...
- As far as I am concerned, the Internet ..
- In my opinion,the Internet..
Example: I think that the Internet is a wonderful means of communication.
B) Negative form:
I do not believe that the Internet..
I do not think that the Internet..
Example: I don’t think that the Internet is very dangerous.
II. As you are going to list the arguments that support your opinion,you have to use transitional sentences like:
I think that the Internet has more advantages than disadvantages.

- There are many reasons for this, .....
III. To list your arguments ,you must use sequencing words:
- First of all/ To begin with,
- Moreover/ Besides/Furthermore......
- In the end/ Last but not lesat ....
IV.You can also use link words:
1. To list adjectives,reasons with: And / as well as /not only..... but also.....
Examples:
The Internet is interesting and useful.
The Internet is interesting as well as useful.
The Internet is not only interesting but also useful.
2 .To express opposite ideas: But / however / though
Example:
The Internet offers advantages; however, it has negative aspects.
The Internet offers advantages, but it has negative aspects.
Though the Internet offers advantages, it has negative aspects.
3. To express purpose: in order to /so as to / to / not to, but to... / so as not to /
Example:
Some people use the Net so as to play games.
Some people use the Net not to do research, but to play games.
4. To draw your conclusion,you can use: To conclude, As a conclusion I can say that....., In short ...
Your production is an argumentative piece of writing in which you will express your opinion about the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet.
You have either to agree with people who think that the Net is dangerous rather than useful or disagree with them. You will have to state your reasons.

2 .Enumerate the advantages of the Net.
3 .Enumerate the dangers of the Net.
4.Write a short conclusion in which you state your opinion clearly.
