Homonyms
Homonyms are two or more words that have the same sound (homophones) or spelling(homographs) but differ in meaning.
Homophones: “write” and “right” or “can” (modal) and “can” ( noun/ verb).
Homographs: “lead”(verb) and “lead” noun
Homonyms are confusing that’s why we have to read the context or here the conversation well to be sure we have understood the exact message.
Sometimes we can have homonymous sentences.
he’s right( he is not wrong) and his right ( the right of him)
